LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN AT HERITAGE HEALTH CARE OF BLUE RIDGE

Members of the Get In Step Line Dance Class entertained at Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge on Tuesday, February 17, 2009.  As a Valentine celebration, the dancers dressed in red and white and performed to love songs from the 1920's to the 1960's.  After performing, the dancers visited with the residents and gave them valentines, silk roses and friendship bracelets.

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN AT FANNIN COUNTY SENIOR CENTER

Members of the Get In Step Line Dance Class entertained at the Fannin County Senior Center on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.  As an early Valentine celebration, the dancers dressed in red and white and performed to love songs from the 1920's to the 1960's and some of the Clients joined the line dancers during one of the dances.  After performing, the dancers visited with the Clients and gave them valentines, silk roses and friendship bracelets.  As a special treat Client Dorothy Clay sang several songs.

Members of the Get In Step Blue Ridge Line Dancers entertained at the Fannin County Senior Center on Tuesday, December 9th.   As an early Christmas celebration, the line dancers wore Santa hats and presented the Clients with Santa hats, Christmas necklaces, Christmas cards and stuffed animals.  The dancers performed several dances to holiday music and some of the clients joined the line dancers during one of the dances.

LINE DANCERS ENJOY DANCE PARTY

The Blue Ridge Get In Step Line Dance Class enjoyed a line dancing party on December 8th at the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association.  Attendees enjoyed an evening of dancing, fun, snacks and door prizes.  Solid Gold Jukebox DJ Louis Schubert provided the music.

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN AT FANNIN COUNTY SENIOR CENTER

Members of the Get In Step Blue Ridge Line Dancers entertained at the Fannin County Senior Center on Tuesday, October 28th.   As an early Halloween treat, the dancers visited with the Senior Center Clients and presented them with western hats, masks, candies, friendship bracelets and cards .  The dancers performed several dances and some of the clients joined the line dancers during one of the dances.   As a special treat Senior Center Client Dorothy Clay sang several songs.

LINE DANCERS PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY PARADE

Members of the Get In Step Blue Ridge Line Dance Class participated in the annual downtown Blue Ridge 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 5th.  In addition to marching in the parade, the line dancers performed several dances for the crowds lining the streets.

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN AT FANNIN COUNTY SENIOR CENTER

Members of the Get In Step Blue Ridge Line Dance class entertained at the Fannin County Senior Center on Wednesday, June 25th.  Between dances, the dancers visited with the Senior Center Clients.  As an early celebration of the Fourth of July Holiday, dancers presented the Senior Center clients with red, white, and blue friendship bracelets, cards and patriotic hats.  Some of the clients joined the line dancers during one of the dances.

Get In Step Line Dancers enjoyed the Street Dance hosted by the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association on May 17, 2008.  Music was provided by "The Boomers".

As part of the entertainment during Nursing Home Appreciation Week, members of the Get In Step Line Dance Class in Blue Ridge entertained at Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge on Wednesday, May 14th.  Residents and staff were presented with cowboy hats to wear  and some of the residents participated with the line dancers during the dancing.  Between dances, the dancers visited with the residents and presented them with cards and friendship bracelets.

LINE DANCE INSTRUCTORS MEET FOR LUNCH AND DANCING

Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association was host to six line dance instructors on Thursday, May 24th:  Linda Hall from Sylva, NC; Pat Farmer from Franklin, NC; Brenda Newton from Ellijay, GA; Sandy Schubert from Blue Ridge, GA; Patty Howells from Franklin, NC; and Jeannette Hudak from Blairsville, GA.

Brenda, Sandy and Jeannette met through line dance classes in Blue Ridge and Ellijay.  Brenda and Sandy met Patty, Linda and Pat at Peachstate Dance Workshop in Atlanta.  They kept in touch through emails and decided to meet for lunch at Happy Daze then share some of the dances that their classes enjoy.

The instructors enjoyed the fellowship and plan to continue these sessions in the various cities.  They also plan to host dance parties so their classes can get to know each other and share their dances.

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN AT STEPP FAMILY REUNION

Members of the Get In Step Line Dance Class entertained at the Stepp Family Reunion held at the Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park on Saturday, May 19th.   After the line dancers performed several dances, instructor Sandy Schubert taught a dance to some of the family members and they joined the line dancers during a dance.

Get In Step Line Dancers enjoyed the Street Dance hosted by the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association on May 5, 2007.  Because of inclement weather, the dance was moved inside The Arts Center.  Music was provided by "The Boomers".

LINE DANCERS TREAT SENIORS 

Members of the Get In Step Line Dance Class entertained at the Fannin County Senior Center on Tuesday, February 13, 2007.  As an early Valentine celebration, the dancers dressed in red and white and performed to love songs from the 1920's to the 1960's.  Some of the attendees joined in dancing.  After performing, the dancers visited with those present and gave them valentines, silk roses and candy.

The Get In Step Line Dancers provided the entertainment at the January 2007 meeting of the Fannin County Homemakers.  Several of the Homemakers joined the line dancers during one of the dances, and then learned a line dance taught by Instructor Sandy Schubert.

Members of the Get In Step Line Dance Class entertained the residents of Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge on Dec. 7th.   The dancers, dressed in Santa hats, performed to holiday music.  Between the dances, they visited with the residents and gave them Christmas Cards, necklaces, hand puppets and Santa hats.   One of the residents, Mary Smith, joined the group for an impromptu dance.

As an early Christmas celebration, the line dancers dressed in Santa hats and perfomed several dances to holiday music.  Several of the Center's attendess joined the line dancers to dance The Electric Slide.  After dancing, the line dancers visited with the Center's attendees and presented them with stockings filled with stuffed animals, Christmas cards and candy canes.

Members of the Get In Step Beginner Line Dancing Class and Step By Step Intermediate Line Dancing Class entertained at the Blue Ridge Senior Center on Friday, July 28th.  After performing, the line dancers visited with the attendees and presented them with cards, friendship bracelets and stuffed animals.

STEP BY STEP II DANCERS ENTERTAIN

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN LEDFORD FAMILY REUNION

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN HEALTH CARE RESIDENTS

LINE DANCERS ENTERTAIN RESIDENTS

The Step By Step line dancers from Blue Ridge and Ellijay entertained the patients of the Blue Ridge Health Care facility on Dec. 13.  Besides performing three dances, the Step by Step group passed out several gifts that included Santa hats, Christmas tree ornaments and hand puppets to those who attended.  Line dancing classes are offered at the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, at the old Fannin County courthouse, every Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Anyone interested in learning to line dance is invited to join in.  For more information, call (706) 632-2144.  Line dancing lessons are also offered at Club 515 on Hwy. 515 every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.  Shown are, from left, health care resident LaFayette  Clore, line dancing instructor Sandy Schubert, line dancing participants Diane Dilallo, Connie Serrecchio, health care resident Georgia Fortner and line dancing participant Patty Charette.
